Pove it, if it makes sense

This is an Easter challenge and an appeal to believers to live a life that proves that the risen Lord indeed is alive in them. Otherwise the celebration does not make any sense.

No, not this time-no one should lose it, never again!

The last time we missed it was when Jesus told us about the meaning of his death- that is we should forgive one another, as he himself forgave us and died for us

Now as we prepare for Easter, I believe it is important for us not to miss it again. Unfortunately year after year this event has been celebrated but its significance has been lost in the lives of many believers. That is why I believe the Lord wants us to be reminded.

In Luke 24:1-12, there is an account of the reactions of some women and the disciples to the resurrection of Jesus Christ. For the women, the angels had to remind them that Jesus had already told them he would be given over to sinners to be crucified and that on the third day he would rise again. Yet they went about piously preparing to go and embalm his body as many believers find their pious pose during Good Friday and the Lent period that precedes it.

For the disciples, when they were told that the tomb was empty, Peter rushed there to verify the evidence cited by the women. Before then, the disciples did not believe their report. This was "because their words seemed to them like non sense." Luke 24:11 NIV.

Non sense indeed! I like it.  It still seems non sense. You want to know why? How many times have you celebrated Easter? And what is there to show? Year after Easter is celebrated. But where is the power underlying the mystery of the resurrection in your life? This 2014 one will also pass without many reliving and producing the evidence of the rising Lord in their lives. Is this not non sense? Does it make sense to you now?

Peter was wondering himself as to what has happened, when he saw the empty tomb. You may be wondering yourself why your life does not show a risen Lord. But keep it to yourself at least. Nevertheless, now I believe many people are wondering, why the lives of believers are empty like the empty tomb from one Easter to another Easter. You changed your clothing used for last year's celebration, but why did you forget about your character? An old same character in a new dress, it does not make sense. Does it?

Easter is the only proof that Jesus Christ rose from the dead and gave believers the victory over sin and death.  Can this be the last one, when you really make people wonder what has happened to you because of the visible Easter power being demonstrated in your life?

Otherwise it does not make sense to keep on celebrating Easter.  Promise yourself and the Lord, that this Easter will be your last celebration of an empty Easter. And that you want to be filled with the resurrection power of the Holy Spirit, who raised Jesus from the dead, in order to make non sense of all the doubts about the power of the rising Lord in your life.- from now onwards. You can in the name of Jesus Christ.
